Street Action Week Feedback – St Peter’s Road

In many neighbourhoods, housing associations are the strongest and most experienced Third Sector organisation  in almost every corner of the UK promoting commuity empowerment, active citizenship and supporting community projects is key in partnership working.

Due to the continued success of the partnership work on and around Radnor Road, the police  identified that issues of anti-social activity has moved to other localised roads one of these being St Peter’s Road.

The Street Action week was organised to assist residents, forging links, gathering intelligence, identifying prevailing issues and working towards  sustainable long-term solutions for  the area.

Midland Heart’s working partnership with Birmingham City Council and the Local Neighbourhood Police Team was part of an initiative fostered by the Police, focusing on areas where reports of high anti-social activity is taking place.  This partnership approach reflects community needs enabling a more indepth understanding of the types of issues impacting and affecting the local community.

A Special Thanks to the following partners who assisted and supported the event:

  • Midland Heart
  • Midland Heart Security Upgrades
  • The Neighbourhood Police Team
  • Handsworth Practical Care Project & Team
  • West Midlands Fire Service
  • Environmental Warden
  • Lozells Neighbourhood Management Team – Birmingham City Council

The Street Action week was well received by all, highlighting some positive responses from local residents. There was a collective community effort to participate showing pride for their area.
