South Lozells Housing consultation

Residents in South Lozells will be well aware that housing regeneration is a big issue in the area. An intensive programme of resident consultation is currently being launched with a number of events and activities through which residents will be able to provide feedback with their views on the future of the area.

There will be an opportunity to go and look at the successful eco-modelling which has been done in Summerfield in Ladywood with 2 tours on 3rd and 5th of February. The take palce from 12.30 to 3.30pm with a pick-up from Wills Street.

An event for Women is planned on16 February at Cherry Tree Sure Start in Graham Street from 10.00am – 12.00pm, and an event for young people on 17 February from 11.00am – 4.00pm at St Pauls and St Silas Church. A series of events for older people are planned which will take place at a variety of pensioner lunchclubs around the area.

On 28 February a consultation event for residents living around Georges Park will be held in the Park from 11.00am to 2.30pm

Grassroots Grants

Grants for between £250 and £5,000 are available for a range of community/voluntary groups that are able to demonstrate that their project will build their capacity and bring benefit to the local community. Groups should have evidence of income of less than £20,000 per year and should be volunteer led. Examples of how the funds can be used include purchase of equipment, costs of putting on local events, staff or rental costs and activity costs.
