Faith Story Telling Event – What a wonderful event

Many thanks to Lozells Central Mosque for welcoming the Lozells Faith Leaders Forum and other visitors last Friday. We enjoyed a very rich time of sharing stories from our holy books and significant events in our lives in the beautiful surroundings of Lozells Central Mosque. Then those of us not used to Asian hospitality were caught out because we were not prepared to be offered food and had eaten. The evening ended with a lovely meal served by the Mosque which gave us time to chat and get to know each other better. A special thank you to Matloob Hussain who arranged everything at the Mosque for this event.

Faith Storytelling Event

Please come prepared to share an encouraging story from your personal spiritual journey or your Holy Scriptures for 5-10 minutes.
It could be in the form of a thanksgiving for an answered prayer or blessings you have received from God’s loving hands.
You might want to share a short story from your Holy Book or a spiritual leader who has inspired you.
Please share freely with an open heart while respecting the faith of others present on the evening.
Children and Young People are welcome.
Message from Police Chief Inspector – Keep your young people at home tonight
Please see attached message from Chief Inspector Sean Russell of West Midlands Police.
Tonights activities on the streets of Birmingham City Centre are disgraceful and by no means acceptable as a means of protesting against anything including the death of a gentleman in London with Police involvement and/or disaffection of young people not in employment. It is important that those responsible for bringing our great city of Birmingham into disrepute are bought to justice asap.
Please ensure that your children, family and friends are at home tonight to prevent them getting held up in the middle of disorder in the city.
Volunteeers needed at Lozells Bookshop
The bookshop on Lozells RD sells cards and stationary as well as books. The bookshop is owned and run by a group of local Christian churches. It is staffed entirely by volunteers and they need some new blood. If you have a couple of hours a week to spare please give them a ring. They have a particular need on a Saturday morning.
