New Site Manager for Life in Lozells
Its goodbye from me Gillian as I am about to start a new role over in Dudley working for the InterFaith Network there. I have been looking after the site for the Lozells Neighbourhood Forum since April. Technically its been a huge learning curve for me but I have enjoyed the process. Now though I am handing over to Alla who has much more skill and lots of ideas for giving the site a real buzz. Please support him by continuing to comment on the articles. Already we have added some fresh authors from the Forum committee. So as well as continuing to get details of local events and opportunities you should soon be seeing a host of new ideas and opinions. I will be logging on myself often to keep up with developments. A big thank you to Hannah at Chamberlain Forum for her support and training and to Jo at Midland Heart also.

Faith Story Telling Event – What a wonderful event

Many thanks to Lozells Central Mosque for welcoming the Lozells Faith Leaders Forum and other visitors last Friday. We enjoyed a very rich time of sharing stories from our holy books and significant events in our lives in the beautiful surroundings of Lozells Central Mosque. Then those of us not used to Asian hospitality were caught out because we were not prepared to be offered food and had eaten. The evening ended with a lovely meal served by the Mosque which gave us time to chat and get to know each other better. A special thank you to Matloob Hussain who arranged everything at the Mosque for this event.

The next Lozells and East Handsworth Ward Committee is on Wednesday July 27th at Mayfield School on Heathfield Rd at 7.00pm, a bit earlier than before. This will be the first meeting with all three councillors in the ward open to you, the public, since the elections in May when there was a change of councillors. So let me encourage you to go along and see how the new team performs and hold them to account for what the council is doing here in our community.
Change Your Life : Walk with us. Join a weekly walking group in George’s Park Lozells
I have just heard about a group which meets every Thursday morning for a fantastic, healthy walk around Lozells. Its for women and children who want to walk and meet new people. They start at 9.30 amd are done by 10.39. Why don’t you join them ? Just turn up at the main entrance to Georges Park on Wills St at 9.30 on Thursdays.
